We are excited to welcome everyone back for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Hopefully, you and your families had a fun and relaxing summer vacation.

This school year we will have the following four priorities: protecting the health and safety of our staff and students; a return to normalcy with in-school learning; equity in remote learning; and educational opportunities for all students.

Priority - A Return to Normalcy and In-School Learning

The district is aware that there were challenges of learning and teaching students from home. The importance of the social aspects are extremely valuable. However, school will not look quite like how it has been in the past.

While it is the goal of Pahrump Elementary Schools to return to robust face-to-face instruction for all students, it is necessary at this time for the new school model to be a HYBRID of in-school learning and distance learning. This schedule will be reviewed quarterly.

A HYBRID model is 2 days at school and 3 days online. Cohort A will attend school in-person on Monday/Wednesday and attend online classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Cohort B will attend school in-person on Tuesday/Thursday and attend online classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Cohorts will be assigned by the district. Families will be scheduled to the same cohort. School hours will be 9:10AM - 2:45PM. Teachers will be providing both in-school and distance learning from the school location.

Please be sure to complete the online survey located on the top right hand corner of this page.

SAFE Program

The before and after school SAFE program will begin August 31st at 7:30AM at the Pahrump Elementary Schools.  SAFE will operate from 7:30-9:10AM and after school from the time students are released until 5:15 PM Monday thru Thursday. SAFE will not operate on Fridays. Students will only be eligible to attend SAFE on the days their cohort attends in-person school.  Please use the following link to submit an application for each student who would like to participate in the SAFE program:    (This is only the application and does not guarantee a spot in the SAFE program.)

Priority - Protecting Health and Safety

The health and safety of our students, our employees, and our community is our top priority.  Reducing the risk and spread of COVID-19 is our highest priority. Pahrump Elementary Schools will be implementing cleaning and sanitation standards to ensure that our school is clean and sanitized. Staff and students will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing while on campus. Staff and students showing any fever or potential symptoms of the virus including coughing, sneezing, etc. must stay at home.

Priority - Equity in Remote Learning

Pahrump Elementary Schools must be ready to pivot to a remote learning model in the event of a local outbreak of Covid-19. Given the expansive and diverse geographic area our school serves, there were concerns regarding future remote learning due to the lack of high-quality internet and/or access to appropriate technology.

Therefore, at the beginning of this school year, we will be assigning each student a Chromebook. The district is also exploring different opportunities for internet access for students who do not currently have adequate internet access. As a school, we will be working to train families on our current online platforms. Our aim is to ensure that families have the learning tools they need in order to achieve student success.

Priority - Educational Opportunities for All Students

At Pahrump Elementary Schools, we want to be sure we provide each and every student with a rich educational experience, whether it is face-to-face, hybrid or distance learning instruction.

Change is the only constant

The COVID-19 pandemic is very fluid. Information and guidance is changing as scientists and public health experts learn more about this novel corona virus. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and each other, stay healthy, and enjoy the beautiful summer weather however you can.
