Deputies were called to Pahrump Valley High School in regards to an allegation of a possible weapon.
The investigation has closed, and the allegation is unsubstantiated. This was a false allegation made by peers due to a peer altercation.

Please meet our student spotlights this week. With both girls being editors they did their own write up!
Ariane Gomez-Moreno, better known as Ari, is a journalism III editor-in-chief. Passionate about her position, Ari strives to make the articles for the PVHS News page well worth reading. Starting off two weeks into her freshman year, after testing out of Spanish, Ari believed she wouldn’t enjoy journalism. After her first two articles, she grew a strong love for the class. She became an editor in an instant, and after a year, she became editor-in-chief. Ari loves to help people reach their potential in writing. Journalism format is quite a bit different from the English format, but she enjoys helping journalism students grow a love for the class and understand it better. Other than journalism, Ari is very family-oriented, as it’s a strong aspect of her Mexican heritage. She has a boyfriend, Sebastian, whom she adores; they have been together for two years! Lastly, you will always catch her listening to music; she loves artists like The Weekend, Gracie Abrams, and Ariana Grande.
Genna Legens is a journalism III chief editor who loves the job that she has. Genna absolutely loves to write and help others discover their potential love for writing, always giving a helping hand when needed. She is a very musical and artistic person with being in and choir and being a theater tech. She believes that having a little love for the arts can really bring out a lot in a person, but overall, writing really makes her shine, and she loves to show it through journalism.

Last week our 9th grade English students were diving into annotation, pulling evidence from the text, and practicing how to cite correctly in MLA style. 📚
Breaking down a text and backing it up with evidence is a skill they’ll use all through high school. 🙌🏼

Meet Carmella! She’s known for her intelligence and her love of fashion. This year, she’s especially excited to be part of the PVHS flag football team.
Outside of school and sports, Carmella enjoys experimenting in the kitchen. One of her favorite creations so far is pesto pasta! She’s also a big fan of math and loves spending time playing Roblox.
Looking ahead, Carmella plans to attend nursing school after graduation. She admires how hands-on nurses are and the incredible difference they make in people’s lives.

Meet Caleb Rothgeb, one of PVHS’s youngest trailblazing Trojans! At only 16 years old, he became the youngest person to open an LLC business account at Wells Fargo in Pahrump. Caleb turned work ethic into reality by launching C&R Landscaping, where he’s already building a strong name as a motivated young entrepreneur. On top of running his own business, Caleb is on the PVHS football team.
We’re proud to celebrate Caleb’s hard work, determination and vision. He is an inspiration to his classmates and community.
