Education

I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota; & my Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix.

Experience

This is my 27th year teaching, all in Nye County. I have taught third, fourth, & fifth grade, all at Manse. Most of my time has been at Manse Elementary School, with the exception being that I taught fifth grade for three years at Hafen Elementary School; sixth grade at the old fifth/sixth grade center in Pahrump; and special education for two years in Tonopah.

I have also coached football, basketball, baseball, & girl's softball. I also officiated high school basketball here in Nevada for 10 years.

Bio

I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I grew up in the first suburb south of Minneapolis, Richfield. I went through all of my schooling in the Richfield Public School system. kindergarten through grade 12. I graduated with a class of 798 students. Our graduation ceremony took place at Metropolitan Sports Center. That is where the Minnesota North Stars, of the N.H.L., used to play. I have a younger sister who still lives in the Twin Cities area. I'm married to a teacher who teaches first grade at Manse Elementary School. We have a daughter who graduated from Pahrump Valley High School in 2015. I was lucky enough to attend the Major League All-Star game and the 1965 World Series in the same year at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington. When I graduated from high school, the graduation ceremony was held at Metropolitan Sports Center, where the Minnesota North Stars of the National Hockey League once played. The Mall of America now sits on the site where the stadium and sports center once stood.

While going to Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota, I worked full time doing the sign-on shift at KDIX radio in Dickinson. I also worked part time at KQCD-TV doing weekend sports.

My passions away from school are spending time with my wife & daughter; riding my Harley; & playing golf.
