Dear Manse Families,
As we wrap up the school year, I want to thank you for your support and partnership over the past four years. It’s been a honor to serve this community as both Assistant Principal and Principal.
While I won’t be returning to Manse next school year, I’m excited to continue serving our district by supporting our youngest learners as they begin their journey in preschool. I’ll still be here in the community, cheering on every Manse Hawk.
Wishing you a safe, restful, and fun summer!

RCMS and Manse went into lockdown for about five minutes due to the sound of possible gunshots off campus.
The NCSSO investigated and found the noise to be fireworks.

SAVE THE DATE!!

🌟 A Friendly Reminder from Manse Elementary 🌟
We’re excited to wrap up a fantastic school year with several special events for our students, including:
🎉 Field Day
🏐 Dodgeball Tournament
🎓 Kindergarten Promotions
👏 5th Grade Clap Out
As we celebrate, we remain focused on our 4 Bs:
💛 Be Safe
💛 Be Responsible
💛 Be Respectful
💛 Be Kind
These celebrations are a way to honor our students’ hard work, and we want every Manse Hawk to be part of the fun! By continuing to make safe and respectful choices, students ensure they can participate fully in these memorable events.
✨ Students who consistently follow expectations will enjoy these activities with their classmates. In some cases, students may have a modified experience.
📌 📌 Please note: If a student makes poor choices or has a school suspension from now until the scheduled events, they may not be able to participate in that specific activity. All students need to make good choices from now until the end of the school year.
👨👩👧👦 Families, we appreciate your support in encouraging your child to finish the year strong—choosing kindness, responsibility, and positivity each day.
Let’s make these last 2 weeks of school memorable and full of Hawk pride! 💫

New invitations to register with our new communication platform, Rooms, will be starting again through email and text. More information on Rooms here: https://www.nye.k12.nv.us/article/1962672
PVHS, RCMS, and Round Mountain can now take absence excuses through Rooms. Log into the NCSD App, find the classroom for attendance, and send a message directly to the person in charge of attendance records. They can even reply directly to you if you have attendance questions.

Please take a minute to review this statement from Dr. Gent regarding investigations, confidentiality, and progressive discipline.

Parents and Guardians,
You are receiving invitations through email and text from Apptegy for a new communication service called Rooms.
Please accept the invitation even if your school is not yet using Rooms. Every school has a published classroom with a bit more information, so once you are set up, you can see what it looks like. PVHS, RCMS, Pathways, Beatty, Amargosa, Round Mountain, and Gabbs have all started to use Rooms with their teachers. We'll be expanding to more schools next year.
The service works through the NCSD App, and once you are signed up, you will automatically be connected to your school and students' teachers each year. It's a one-time registration.
Please view our information page if you have questions: https://www.nye.k12.nv.us/page/rooms-support

Dear Nye County School District Community,
Please note that Thursday, January 9th, IS a school day for all NCSD students.
While President Biden has declared a National Day of Mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter, this declaration primarily affects federal employees.
Nevada public schools, including all those in Nye County, will remain in session.
We understand that this may cause confusion, and we appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joe Gent
Superintendent
